Dell recently revealed a suite of Windows 8 devices including the Latitude 10 tablet, the Dell Latitude 6430u ultrabook, and the all-in-one OptiPlex 9010 PC. Release date and price information has not been released yet. Perhaps one or more of these products will be launched at the same time as the release of Microsoft Windows 8 on October 26st.
Dell Latitude 10 Tablet
The Dell Latitude 10 Tablet is a 10.5mm thick Windows tablet with a 10.1 inch display that will run Windows 8 Pro. The display comes with a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels. Users of the Latitude 10 will have up to 128GB of flash storage and the device will be powered with Intel’s Atom system-on-a-chip processor with 2GB of RAM. The Latitude 10 tablet will also include a camera on the front and back of the display.
Unique features of the Latitude 10 will include a finger print reader and support for Dell’s DDPE, or Dell Data Protection and Encryption. The security features of the Dell’s Latitude 10 tablet make the device well suited for enterprise use.
The Latitude 10 will also include a separate docking station. It may not, however, include an attachable keyboard. The Latitude 10 may be equipped with an extendable battery that will provide up to 18 hours of run time.
Dell Latitude 6430u Ultrabook
This new Dell Latitude 6430u Ultrabook from Dell will run on Intel’s Core i3 to Core processors and will provide users with up to 8GB of RAM. It is 20mm thin and comes with a 14 inch display that will provide an anti-glare screen. The the 6430u weighs 3.7 pounds, which makes it portable for mobile users. An interesting feature of the Latitude 6430u ultrabook is that users can add unique accessories such as a spill-resistant keyboard or a free-fall hard disk sensor to prevent data loss. The 6430u ultrabook is designed to meet MIL-STD-810G standards for operation in harsh environments, and is built to withstand the harshest conditions.
Dell OptiPlex 9010 PC
The Dell OptiPlex 9010 is an all-in-one Windows 8 PC, that comes with a 23 inch display. It will run Intel’s third-generation Core processors and will offer users touchscreen functionality. The OptiPlex 9010 PC will also include rotating webcams options, which could be applied for a range of business uses such as presentations or teleconferencing.
