If you stay tuned in to the world of tech, you’ve already heard all the hubbub surrounding those sexy 4k displays. TV, mobiles and laptops are getting in on the 4k action, and at CES 2014 Toshiba unveiled not one, but two refreshed laptops with 4k featuring 4k displays with the Tecra W50 and Satellite P50t.
First up we are going to take a look at the Toshiba Tecra W50. The Tecra T50 sports a 15.-inch screen with an eye popping resolution of 3840 x 2160. Its a color calibrated display with a density of 228 ppi and it has wide viewing angles to boot. Under the hood, you can expect to enjoy a variety of 4th gen Intel Core processors along with a NVIDIA Quadro K2100M with 2GB of dedicated memory.
The Satellite P50t is the second laptop to get the display upgrade, and it’s geared towards the entertainment crowd. The resolution stays the same at 3840 x 2160, but the P50t gets a touchscreen and uses an edge-to-edge glass design which improves the three C’s – color, clarity, and contrast.
The Toshiba Tecra W50 and Satellite P50t appear to be solid Windows 8.1 laptops with top of the line displays. The fine details surrounding both laptops are still a little sparse, but you can expect them to be available sometime in the middle of 2014.
